AhlulBayt News Agency: On Saturday, the "Ankara Platform for Solidarity with Palestine" organized a protest condemning Israel’s violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
Members of the platform gathered in front of the U.S. embassy in the Turkish capital, Ankara, chanting anti-Israel slogans.
Aziz Oğuzhan Karaman issued a press statement on behalf of the platform, stating that Gaza, which has been under an Israeli siege for 20 years, has been subjected to continuous attacks since October 2023.
Karaman pointed out that Israel continues its attacks despite the ceasefire agreement.
He said: "The Israeli occupation has violated the agreement 1,520 times. The Israeli attacks that breached the agreement have led to the martyrdom of 566 Palestinians and the injury of 1,418 others. During the ceasefire period, Israel destroyed 221 homes."
He emphasized that the ceasefire in Gaza should not lead to forgetting the genocide being committed by Israel, calling on people with conscience around the world to continue raising their voices against the occupation.
These violations come despite the announcement by the U.S. administration in mid-January that the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, which went into effect on October 10, 2023, had begun.
The death toll from Israel's genocide since the war began on October 8, 2023, has risen to 72,027 killed and 171,561 injured.
The ceasefire agreement ended a two-year Israeli genocide war, which caused massive destruction, affecting 90% of civilian infrastructure, with reconstruction costs estimated by the United Nations at approximately 70 billion dollars.
